Building your menu

Your menu is shared by everything on Masil: the consumer app, the web storefront and the POS. Change it once and every channel updates.

Open Menu → Menu & Categories to get started.

#Create a category

1. Press New category.
2. Enter the name in both languages: Name (EN) and Name (AR). Both are required.
3. Optionally add an Image — PNG or JPG, square, at least 600×600px.
4. Leave Available on to show the category, then save.

Drag categories to change the order customers see them in.

#Add an item

Select a category, then press New item.

Two switches control whether an item can be ordered:

• Available — whether the item is on the menu at all.
• In stock — turn off when you've run out, without removing the item.

Under Order types, choose where the item can be ordered: Delivery, Pickup, Dine-in and Curbside. All four are on for a new item.

#Add modifiers

Modifiers are the choices on an item — sizes, extras, sauces. On the item, press Modifiers, then Add modifier group:

1. Name the group in both languages, e.g. "Size".
2. Set the Selection type: Single (choose one) or Multiple.
3. Set Min selections and Max selections. A new group starts at min 0, max 1 — an optional single choice.
4. Press Add option for each choice, with its name and any extra price.

#Import a menu from a spreadsheet

For a large menu, press Import menu and upload an Excel or CSV file (up to 10 MB). Download the CSV template or Excel template first so your columns match.

• Items that already exist are matched by name and updated.
• Nothing is deleted by an import.
• Add an image_url column and Masil downloads each photo for you.

#Control availability per branch

Every branch shares the menu, but each can switch items on and off. Open Menu → Items & Inventory, choose the branch, and use the Available and In Stock switches for its items and modifier options.
